Portrait Session Information

I offer a unique and personal approach to portrait photography and my clients are continually telling me how much they adore the photos I've taken for them. Instead of your typical studio environment with glaring lights and stiff, contrived poses we'll have a relaxed, comfortable shoot in the great outdoors or the comfort of your very own home! We'll work together to capture YOU. The REAL you! The photos I take of you will exude your personality and won't look exactly like everyone else's!

Portrait sessions last 1 hour and after the shoot I will upload the unedited versions to a password protected proofing website for your viewing. You will be asked to choose 25 of your favorite shots from the session. I will then process those 25 shots for belmishes, balance, lighting, etc so they are ready for print. I will then upload those 25 shots to another website so you can order prints and photo gifts with ease and share the site with your family and friends so they can also order photos and gifts if they like.

In addition, you will receive them on CD or DVD so you can have the images printed through your preferred photo processing service and have as many as you wish created in any size you require. In addition to the 25 original files, I also provide you with all of the unedited versions of all photos taken during the shoot on CD or DVD so you can play with them as you like with your own photo processing software. As I typically shoot 150-300 photos per hour session you can see how editing all of them would be very time consuming (and it is!). Because many people only select a few poses to have prints made of, that is a lot of unecessary time being wasted in editing which in turn delays the turn around time for getting your photos quickly!

The cost for all portrait sessions includes travel to the location of your choice within the Halifax Regional Municipality, as many images as we can capture in 1 hour and my time in editing your photos, creating your CD or DVD and uploading the images to your password-protected websites.

1-5 people - $75.00 per hour
6-10 people - $100.00 per hour
11-15 people - $125.00 per hour
16-20 people - $150.00 per hour

Maternity

Congratulations, you're expecting! The next few months are going to be ones of many changes. Mostly with your body! The glow that an expecting mother radiates is truly special and I'll capture your transforming body as a reminder of the unique and special bond you and your baby shared for 9 months.


Babies

Happy Birthday little one! Welcome to the World! Children grow up far too quickly and before you know it your baby isn't a baby anymore. I'll capture the innocence of your precious bundle and record those special moments that have that "aww" factor - a nap on Daddy's shoulder, breastfeeding with Mommy or one of those first few smiles.

Baby's First Year Package - save $50.00
The perfect way to capture your Baby's first year! At newborn, 4 months, 8 months and 12 months we'll do a photo shoot with your new bundle. Then at the end of the year I'll create a hard cover coffee table style book for you using the images from your shoots throughout the year to create a very personal book of memories!

The package includes:

  • Four - 1 hour photo shoots ($75.00 value each for a total of $300.00)

  • One - 8" x 8" hard cover, coffee table style book (20 pages) ($ 100.00 value)

  • 25 edited and retouched images from each shoot on CD or DVD for printing each time we do a shoot

Couples

The bond that two people in love share, is unique to each relationship and I love to capture the knowing glances, the sense of security you feel wrapped in each other's arms or the quirky and silly moments you love to share. Maybe you've just moved in together and want some special photos of the two of you to hang on the walls of your new home. Maybe you've just gotten engaged and want to share your happy news with an announcement. Or maybe you've been in love for a long time and you are celebrating a special wedding anniversary. Let me capture that spark that brought you two together in the first place!

Engagement/Anniversary Package - save $25.00
The perfect way to capture some special moments between the two of you before your big celebration! Your photos can be used for newspaper announcements or for save the date cards. Best of all I will use the images from your session to create a very unique Guest Book for your wedding or anniversary celebration. Each of the 20 pages will contain images from your engagement/anniversary shoot with blank space provided for guests to write their names and any congratulatory notes they wish to share with you. It takes the pressure off of you to find the right book or photo mat and this will be a personalized treasure to reflect upon.

  • One - 8" x 8" hard cover, coffee table style book (20 pages) ($ 100.00 value)

Families

For families, I offer a perfect alternative to those angst-ridden portrait sessions in big box store's portrait studios. I know, I've seen them. Your family arrives (after fighting with your children to even get dressed that day!). You are scrambling to get there on time as you only have a 15 minute appointment window. Once you get into the studio your children freeze. The glaring lights and big cameras frighten them and any of the photos that actually do come out make them look like they were scared stiff (that is, if you can get them to sit still or stop crying).

 

Their portrait is never going to reflect their true personalities and even if you do happen to get one good shot out of the very few the photographer takes, it is going to look like everyone else's photos. If you are lucky and get two great poses, only one is included in your package of prints and you'll end up spending even more money on getting those additional photos. Sounds familiar doesn't it? :)

 

I don't believe in making children sit still and pose for the camera. Sure, we'll still try to get a few "posed" family shots for grandma but when you are outside of the confines of a studio you can let your children be themselves. Perhaps we'll do the session at their favorite park so they can play on the playground equipment or dig in the sand box. Maybe they like feeding the ducks at a nearby pond. Or maybe one of your favorite family destinations is the beach and you can go kite flying or build sandcastles. I'll let your family interact as you normally would but capture all those special glances, those moments of shared discovery and best of all, take the pressure off of Mom and Dad!

A Year In The Life of Our Family Package - save $50.00
The perfect way to capture your family over the span of one year! In winter, spring, summer and autumn, we'll do a photo shoot with your family, then at the end of the year I'll create a hard cover coffee table style book for you using the images from your shoots throughout the year to create a very personal book of memories!

The package includes:
